Worker Bees

Thats how it's been around here lately. (and do not buy the bee movie video game-no fun) We have been SO busy around here! I haven't mentioned much of it but we are in the middle of redoing the restaurant. We are adding an ice cream shoppe to it, adding an outside dining area, a service window, and making some changes inside. The entire place has been redesigned so I'm very eager to see it all come together. I can see bits here and there from the logo, new tshirts, new menus, artwork, curtains, aprons, etc. but all together it will be nice. Here's an image of the new logo. Jason and I are very excited to see it on everything.

Today I am getting all of the fabric for the valances while waiting on apron and booth fabric.
I am using Chocolate Lollipop for the base of the apron with black and white polka dot trim for the tie. I'm very excited to get my hands on this fabric, even if it isn't to go around my own waist.

We are taking little breaks here and there to enjoy the weather when it isn't too hot. It's been so humid lately! There is a school about two blocks away from our house. Ephraim loves to run and run in the soccer field there.

Jason's grandparents also came to visit this past weekend. We realized that it has been about a year since we have seen them and it was really wonderful to catch up with them and let Ephraim play with Great-Grandpa. Ephraim was a bit shy at first, but after about ten minutes really warmed up!

He seems to be learning so much more every day. He isn't quite tall enough to pull himself up onto the couch but he has learned that all he needs to do is push something next to the couch to get up and jump. Last night he figured out that he could reach the cushions on the back, pull them off, and use those as a stool to get up. Then he pushes off all of the other back cushions and tries to play in the crack behind all the seat cushions.

As for the new baby...she is very active! Ephraim was very active in the womb so I didn't think she would be as much. This kid won't let me rest! I hope it's no indication of how she will be sleeping when she arrives!! And on that...I don't think Ephraim is going to be ready for a toddler bed after the baby moves out of the bassinet. I think we will have to buy a second crib. Thinking of two cribs really starts to trip me out! I can look at Ephraim like he's grown out of baby stage the minute he started to walk away from me, and in a sense, he has. The thought of two cribs, two diapers, two babies...two nannies? When will I have time to work on any projects with this beautiful fabric that keeps being created? I don't even have everything completed with Drawing Room fabric and there is another line coming out in July that I'd love to put on the back porch. I literally dreamed of covering myself with this quilt last night. I haven't even had a chance to finish my curtain panels yet! Hopefully after the end of this month, I'll at least have time to do that. Then a month for a quilt? Is it possible to make a quilt in the last month of pregnancy? I sadly think I know the answer to that...

Back to some artwork before that valance fabric comes! Anyone want to bring their sewing machine for the weekend? I can offer you endless amounts of baked goods and belly laughs-Ephraim is good at providing entertainment lately!
