Ok, I know that being just shy of 36 weeks doesn't really allow me to complain to get this damn baby out but, "Dammit! Get this baby out!" Some days I feel fine, besides the whole I hate being pregnant thing, to barely being able to walk myself around the house or to the bathroom by the time the day is ending. I don't remember feeling so ready to have Ephraim apart from the excitement to just have him. This baby is different. This baby I want OUT.
The best highlights from the past week include Jason and I actually going out to dinner! and me ordering a steak! I KNOW! Actually, I think the baby ordered it, not me...
I picked up a copy of Twilight and now need to read the rest of them. I couldn't settle on anything to read and they had a huge stack so gave in to a #1 seller for the first time in my life. I knew it would be an easy read. Not exactly the Proust I was in search of upon walking into the Borders. I figured my 35wk pregnant brain could not take anything that intense.
...Steaks and vampire novels, totally not my thing...maybe small towns do something to a girl? pregnancy?
The girls at the restaurant threw me a baby shower on Sunday. Totally unnecessary and a bit awkward being as how I'm not friends with any of them, but sweet none the less. I mostly got a bunch of pink frilly clothes, which is just fine because all we have around here are navy polo shirts these days. We did get some washrags and receiving blankets and a new baby tub that we were in need of though, so it was nice. Jason and I finally got around to dragging up the bassinet and baby papasan to wash up, as well. I am very excited to have a little pink bundle all cozied (is that a word?) up in the cosleeper though!
...Other than that, just been using up more fabric. My stash is actually beginning to look pretty low now! I've been settling on smaller, more 30 minute-ish projects so I don't have this baby and leave a quilt unfinished for four years. I've been making blocks, bibs, burp cloths, more tops, all that sweet stuff. This baby best turn out a girl or we will have one helluva chocolate lollipop boy!

And what else? Oh yeah...we finally got a new car! We've been needing one for a while and decided it would be nice to have before the baby got here. Much more adorable in person, here is our '09 Toyota Matrix:

And OH! I forgot to mention that Ephraim's favorite new thing to do these days is COLOR!

He does this adorable thing and tries to touch the points of the crayons together so they match just perfectly.

His first artwork! I'm so proud :)

Don't get ahead of yourself. you're going to have your HANDS FULL when that baby comes, and then you will say "But I wish I had more time!" It's always greener on the other side! Good luck.
