Peter Pan
My family has a long tradition of creating first place Halloween costumes. Being the next generation of costume makers, I had a lot of pressure to create an award winning costume of my own, if not a first place winner!
I began with my first great idea: A white rabbit in a magic hat!
Bunny-costume I would sew
Hat-large feed bucket, create brim--put baby inside
Table (for magic wand and other "magic" accessories)-wagon with cardboard top, draped with velvet skirt
Assistant-this would be me--but very Mommy friendly, of course!
**this idea was quickly rejected after I began the process of sewing the rabbit costume. I AM NOT a pattern sewer...I'm more freestyle, yo.....right
Plan B: Peter Pan flying in a cloud!
(he is a redhead...)
Peter Pan-store bought (I know, I know....I'll do better next year!!)
Cloud-wagon, sheet batting duct taped to the inside and draped around. Batting spray glued to the sides of the sheet batting. Spray glue and iridescent "snow" glitter.
Neverland-Self adhesive felt, glitter, glue
Tink-scrapbook Tinker Bell, Fishing line, hot glue, glitter (for fairy dust from wand)
We went to two costume contests at a local grade school and then the Will County Humane Society. Ephraim loved seeing all the cats and dogs available for adoption! We already have two cats, one more than we need, so we did not bring any home. Besides, I think Ephraim much preferred a puppy!
