I was hesitant to post about this for a couple reasons. One, exercising sucks and maybe I would quit. Two, I don't want this to turn into a weight-loss blog. But now, I'm in to day 6 of healthy eating and shredding (and all I think about is eating and shredding so what else am I going to write about? bacon brownies, perhaps? mmmmm)
First of all, maybe I should explain myself. The 30 Day Shred is an exercise program designed by Jillian Michaels. The Biggest Loser chic, you know? Apparently I've been living under a rock (or two babies) and missed the release last summer. I came across this program on another mommy blog and after further research was sold. I'm not expecting to lose 20lbs at the end of the month, but I am looking forward to a great sense of pride for 30 days of healthy eating and exercise. This should really keep me in the mode of doing so. I was pretty good about it after I had Ephraim and continued into my fourth month of pregnancy with Aeris. I think I lost all motivation with the stress of the restaurant.
I must admit, after the first workout I was SORE. So sore that it hurt my arms to text. I expected to wake up the nxt morning really sore but wasn't really at all. I've been pushing through the exercises of level one and using good form and everything but not seeming to be as S-O-R-E as other shredders. Thats what we call ourselves. Or shredheads. Or anything else that my seem even remotely funny to make you forget for a second what a bitch (in that good, I really hate you for making me do fake jump roping) kind of a way. I found day four to be the hardest. I was sore and huuuungry. I was like I'm going to kill someone if I don't get my five nut snack kinda hungry. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Oprah does. I'm getting used to the calorie intake and not so starving at, and after, dinner. I put tally marks on the chalkboard and am so eager to have ten, then twenty, then thirty. woo! And hoping the jeans fit better. Actually I'm already in need of new ones so its a good start. I have two sizes to go to be back into my pre-Ephraim size. Let's see how far I get this month. With the weather warming up I should be able to get outside a lot more than the ONE day we had two weeks ago above 20 degrees.
