It is really so exciting having young kids and not babies anymore. This year was really the first year the kids have both been able to participate in the town's friendship days and both enjoy it.
Paula was chosen of Wilmington's Volunteer of the Year, so she was the Grand Marshall in the parade. How lucky are Ephraim and Aeris that they got to ride along with her? (and also, how lucky are we that the kids didn't bring home huge bags of candy? we still have candy in the cabinet from the St. Patty's Day parade!)
After the parade, we took a nice stroll back to Grandma's house and chilled with some lemonade before heading to the carnival. Both of the kids had such a great time being their first carnival and all. Aeris got a bit disappointed when we walked up to most of the rides as she was too short to go on them, and had to stand there and watch the man unclip the rope and let Ephraim walk through. She will have that disappointment for a long time, little peanut.
Oh! And I had a great time too! I tried fried Oreos for the first time! YUM! Can't go to the carnival and not have treats :)
After rides, and games and junk food, Mom was pooped and called it a day. I don't think Aeris was disappointed though. Poor thing fell asleep when we were only a block from the carnival!
